Sorry I didn't have a chance to post last night, came home pretty late from a day trip and I was completely pooped from driving...
I just saw the news about (another) bombing in Mumbai:
http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Mumbai+rocked+three+explosions+least+feared+dead/5095880/story.html
"It is another attack on the heart of India, another attack on Mumbai," said the chief minister of the state, Prithviraj Chavan, who hinted at possible foreign involvement by saying it was a "challenge to Indian sovereignty."
The Home Ministry said at least 20 people had been killed and 113 injured, many of them seriously.
Home Minister P. Chidambaram told reporters in New Delhi that it was "a coordinated attack by terrorists," adding that "the entire city of Mumbai has been put on high alert."
3 bombs were set off within 15 minutes of each other at a middle class residential area, a wholesale gold market, and a building housing diamond traders and jewellery shops.
I can remember several bombings in India of recent history, including 2006 attack on suburban trains in Mumbai, the 2008 shooting and bombing attacks across Mumbai, the 2010 restaurant bombing in Pune, and now this.
It is just insane to hear of all these terrors and people dying, when we often take our security so deeply for granted. My heart is with the families of the victims. Godbless.
No military target?
ReplyDeleteI heard about the bombing.
ReplyDeleteHow tragic
ReplyDeleteI feel so sad for Mumbai :( Thanks for this up date
ReplyDeleteThat's horrible, so sad. Has anyone claimed responsibility?
ReplyDeleteWhats wrong with people? Jeez.

ReplyDeleteIt is heartbreaking to hear of these sensless acts and the lives that they forever mark. It is why the news is not a big seller for me.
ReplyDeleteMy deep condolence for them.I hate bomb attack. The similar things happened in my country also.Terrorist are evil.
ReplyDeleteThe killing of people in their homes and neighborhoods is particularly unsettling, always more so when people claim it is retribution for some similar act.
ReplyDeleteI always found that kind of stuff pretty sickening.
ReplyDeleteThis is so horrible.
ReplyDeleteNice blog, follow you

ReplyDeleteSo saddening. My heart feels for the victims and family members of all people whose life was taken away by all acts of violence across the world.
ReplyDeleteThe world is a rough place, its sad to be reminded of that as often as we are.
ReplyDeleteA wise man does not go to war over his grievances, a wise man finds a way not to.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree that we take our security for granted. What a tragic story.
ReplyDeleteTragic, I'm glad I don't live in one of those places where you have to worry every time you go to the market.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame, seems all to often these types of things are just because one group of people thinks differently than another.
ReplyDeleteLet's all have a moment of silence for these unfortunate souls.
ReplyDeleteAnother sad moment in the history of humans :(
ReplyDeleteIndia is such a beautiful country. They do not deserve this!!

ReplyDeleteIt sucks that these things are happening. Hate to say it but I bet the American government has something to do with this. Sneaky. They need to be stopped.

ReplyDeleteAll that is terrible. Its hard to think that as the years go by instead of society getting better it on gets worse. I wondef how far this problem will go until some goes to far and gets worse.
ReplyDeleteattacks like these are so pointless. why can't everyone just agree to disagree, and get on with their lives?
ReplyDeleteA damn shame.

ReplyDeleteJust when you think it can't get any worse...
ReplyDeleteit continue forever, the arab comunity is unreconciliable....too bad to hear that
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth do these terrorists hope to achieve? indians fought a long and bloody war to free themselves from the shackles of their muslim overlords (mughals). it is engraved in their history. No amount of terrorism is going to convince the indians to go back to the dark ages.
