I can hear the collective groan from all of you guys around the world... but I love the series! I can't believe it's ending though =(.
At around 4pm yesterday I walked into Oakridge, and people were already lined up for the midnight viewing. Not to buy tickets mind you, all of the tickets were pre-purchaesd; they were lining up to get a seat in the theatre. Isn't that just incredible? Like I mean, I'm a fan and all, but... an 8 hour wait? I think I'll watch it next week...
But yeah, apparently this movie was already at $25 million in sales (domestic alone... overseas is another $44 million) before it premiered. That makes it possibly one of the biggest midnight-grossers, beating out Twilight: Eclipse. In fact, I bet it already outranked some movies' total gross before it has even been released!

It's well on it's way to besting the $158 million in weekend openings held by the Dark Knight. Speaking of which, I can't wait for Dark Knight Rises!
Its crazy the amount of people following the saga. I believe it will top the Dark Knight by a wide margin. Never seen such fanatism before, maybe star wars but im not sure.
ReplyDeleteI love Harry Potter!
ReplyDeletePeople are crazy for Harry Potter! I should know because I am too! I can't wait to see it
ReplyDeleteIs it The Dark Knight for Batman? If it is yes...you can't believe it,I watch The Dark Knight for 15 times.Batman Begin 15 times.I love Christian Bale so much. Can't wait for The Dark Knight Rises.
ReplyDeleteEmma Watson really grew up, hehe
ReplyDeleteWow, everybody is crazy for Harry Potter indeed. I've read so many posts of people saying they are going to watch the movie.
ReplyDeleteI love emma watson!
ReplyDeleteSome great summer movies coming out :)
ReplyDeleteIt will make tons of money.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna watch it only when they release it on DVD. Don't like Potter so much to go to the cinema
ReplyDeleteI don't much like Harry Potter :P
ReplyDeleteStar Wars > Harry Potter :D
It's crazy how popular this series has become. I grew up with these books and I can still remember my friends catching on as it became more popular. It's a shame that the saga has come to an end.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I'm also involved in Greek Life. Haha what an experience ;) Phi Sigma Kappa, Damn Proud!
Followed.
Never read the books, but the movies were always enjoyable.
ReplyDeletedamn; ot a big harry potter fan, so all's I can say is praise wikipedia for the movies and plots listed on there for the movies :D
ReplyDeleteI really didn't like the last 2 movies, so I hope they finish strong with this one.
ReplyDeleteHermione looks really hot, can't wait to see the movie. Will torrent it because there is no cinema where I live. FML!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the last movie. Loved it. Can't wait to see it again.
ReplyDeletei want to watch it, but in my country (Brazil -_-) it isnt avaiable yet i think.
ReplyDeleteI really love Harry Potter, but there are no theaters near where I live. This saddens me.
ReplyDeleteI've never really read the books, and I've never went to a movie in theaters...but as a lover of fine movies, i feel I need to sit down and watch all the movies at some point in my life.
ReplyDeleteOver rated movie. Over rated books.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to watch the last one
ReplyDeleteYeah, she's grown up to a beautiful woman.
ReplyDeleteAhem...
ReplyDeleteI'M JUST SAYIN', I'M THE GUY WHO TOLD YOU THAT DUMBLEDORE DIED ON PAGE 317.
No, seriously, I'm glad that the Harry Potter movies are doing so well. By all means, I have no issue against J.K. Rowling or any other trash teen literature series (a.k.a. Twilight). I hope it does well for the original creators, y'knowwhatImean?
Now, will it ever win a truly literary award? Oh jesus jumping christ no...
Nonononono. No. Trash fiction is trash.
well im a dude and i for one love the movie series. sadly though i havent seen the deathly hallows part one yet
ReplyDeleteNot read the books or seen the film as wizards annoy me. However they have got kids reading books and brought loads of money into my country so I'm glad they are so popular.
ReplyDeleteugh, I can only hope that this will finally be the end of that damn franchise. Seriously David Eddings or Robert Jordan did better Character Driven wizard epics.
ReplyDeleteWeird how the time flies. Who knew Emma Watson would grow up to be so chic.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad this series is done with. I never really got into it that much. Only started watching it because of my girlfriend. -followed-
ReplyDeleteI only watched this one for Emma Watson. ;)
ReplyDeleteemma watson is freaking hot
ReplyDeleteNever read a book or seen a single movie. Not really a series that ever caught my eyes.
ReplyDeleteAnd now my childhood is over.........
ReplyDeleteexcellent, now we can all get on with our lives
ReplyDeleteMy kids are so excited about this!
ReplyDeleteLove the Harry Potter serious I'm going to go check it out this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge Harry Potter fan.
ReplyDeleteWell...I am a huge Harry Potter BOOK fan that is.
I've only seen the first 2 movies and I seriously can't get myself in the mood to see any more. I find it so less interesting. I might be predujiced though :p
I never watched a harry potter movie.. am I missing alot?
ReplyDeleteI kinda got bored of the potter movies at some point. Good post though.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed this series but can't imagine waiting for hours to see a movie.
ReplyDeleteSuch a good movie! OMG I am such an HP fan. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting a few days to see it.
ReplyDeleteRumor has it they're changing the ending so Voldemort wins, evil triumphs and marches all over the earth, and a generation of readers are scarred for life.
I guess being a contrarian, I can't really comment on this movie, other than I have not seen it. I do hope, however, that all who do are not dissapointed.
ReplyDeleteI seriously can't wait to see it! We watched the first part of Deathly Hallows just last week, and I'm itching for the final movie!
ReplyDeleteI am gonna see it, but after it's on DVD...
ReplyDelete+1 follow
it has already been out for a week over here.
ReplyDeleteNever got into this series myself, I guess if others like it though.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna see this in 3 hours. I'm so sad that the series is ending.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a Pooter fan.
ReplyDeleteNor the books, nor the movies.
But my gf loves it.
TDKR, on the other hand, is my cup of tea. Can't wait for that one! :)
Following and supporting! :)
Good movie! I saw it at 8am thursday cause I work at a movie theater and we pre screened it :D
ReplyDeleteFollowing ;)
im not a harry potter fan but i saw it last night in 3D... good movie, but the 3D didnt add very much, so save your money and see it 2D
ReplyDeleteI went to the midnight showing :) they let everyone in the theatre like 2 hours before the movie opened, which was like a half-hour after I got there with my friends. I wish I had brought a book or something
ReplyDeleteSuck it, Twilight.
ReplyDelete*Groans* ;)
ReplyDeleteAs much as I am a Potter fan, I won't be watching this movie. I haven't seen a movie since the fourth one, as the fifth was my favourite book, and I didn't want to see the charred carcass they turned it in to.
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching this later ^_^
ReplyDeleteI need to see it so badly! >_<
ReplyDeletecan't wait to watch this next week, in 3D.
ReplyDeletewhy are so many people ranting about a mediocre movie? well they did rant about twilight...
ReplyDeletei want to see this
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, I still have to catch up...I haven't watched any of the movies since the 4th. Might be nigh time for a marathon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, by the way! Returning the love. :D
I'm surprised the main characters stayed on through the entire series! I should say the "Actors". They would have been stupid not to, but now are they labelled as these people now or can they do other acting parts? Would people want them? Yeah, they can play a wizard and . . . . do a naked play with a horse. I dunno, great series though and great blog on that!
ReplyDeleteEmma Watson <3
ReplyDeleteI spent all of Thursday in a theater for this. Hell yeah!
ReplyDeleteI finally have to go watch this movie in cinema
ReplyDeleteI watched it yesterday. I was kind of disappointed with part two, maybe I shouldn't have reread the book before the movie hah.
ReplyDeletecant understand that potter mania....
ReplyDeleteNot a big fan of HP but i can understand potter mania cause I'm a big Trekkie.
ReplyDeleteI never really got into Harry Potter myself, in fact, yesterday was supposed to be a day where I chill with a bunch of friends, but one of them bought advanced tickets for Harry Potter
ReplyDeleteMy fiance and I just watched all the previous Harry Potter movies in the last 2 weeks, preparing to go see this!
ReplyDeleteStopped watching after the fourth movie. The fans were the main reason why I stopped.
ReplyDeleteWatched it at midnight on 15th, crowds were lovin' it. It was pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie yet.. I really have to one of these days!
ReplyDeletenever read the book or watched the movies, but now I can because I was waiting for everything to finally wrap up!
ReplyDeletecant wait to see this!
ReplyDeleteI don't like harry potter
ReplyDeletefollowed nonetheless
i didnt think the new movie was very good
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe that emma watson made the most money out of everyone on the hp movies...
ReplyDeleteI mean she's a chick and all... but...
lol, still love Harry Potter movies!
They are good movies, not seen the last one yet but people make them out as such an amazing set of films
ReplyDeleteDid you guys know that Dumbledore was a homosexual? I'm not even making this up. Anywho, even thought i do enjoy the special effects in these movies, it's just not the same as reading the books for the first time.
ReplyDeleteWell, it seems like everyone else is following you so i might as well ;)
Deathly hallows part 2 has to be the best one ")
ReplyDeleteAhhh Emma Watson.
ReplyDeleteI love the series too, still haven't seen DH2 though so I'll get back to you about that!
Not really a big fan of Harry Potter, but I don't hate on it like some. I've seen some but it's not my kind of movie. Again, I'm not hating.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe how much money they're making from these movies!
ReplyDeleteI can't waiiiit... until Harry Potter dies!!!! muahahaha
ReplyDeleteWell at least you heard me groan!
ReplyDeleteMidnight line was 150 people strong at 1:30 pm the day before here.
ReplyDeleteSOOO GLAD thats its finally over!
ReplyDeleteI'll probably watch it, but not anytime soon. I haven't even seen the previous one yet.
ReplyDeletei saw it at 1am. i went at 9 hoping to get tickets for midnight but they were sold out atleast i was one of the first to get in the the 1am showing =)
ReplyDeleteThe entire series has made $6.8 BILLION in film
ReplyDeleteI'm sad too that it's now over ):
ReplyDeleteharry potter is a ho who was created to make punks who got beat up in school feel like they could be the underdog who becomes a bad ass too!
ReplyDeleteI bet the film makers are kicking themselves for not splitting all the books into multiple films (some of those books could have fed 4 or 5 films), think of the bucks that could have been rolling in for decades….I guess having Ron, Harry and Hermione being played by 50 year olds might have been a bit of an issue… Still as the audience grow older and eye sites get worse they might have got away with doing long shots and soft focus…or perhaps they could have done a Dr Who and explained changes to characters as regeneration….
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see it
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your not a Harry Potter nut job. I think its okay and I watched the movie, but some people are too crazy about it!
ReplyDeleteyou're a wizard Harry!
ReplyDeletei have to wait till next month to watch this but i cant wait.
ReplyDeleteI use to watch the movies and read the books, but stopped a few years ago. I wouldn't mind watching the movies ive missed though.
ReplyDeleteGahh I still need to see it. I just don't want to pay the $13 for a ticket :c
ReplyDeleteStill just going to wait until both Part 1 and 2 are out on Blu-ray and watch 'em both. I really truly hated Book 7, but hopefully the movies will make it bearable.
ReplyDeleteDamn I need to see this! the only problem is that i havent even seen the last one!
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter was a huge part of my childhood, yet i've kind of stalled to a halt in watching the films..
